FSB door handle with integrated ekey finger scanner wins the iF gold award 2009

The Fingerscan 2.0 by ekey and FSB combines state-of-the-art technology with elegant design.

ekey, Europe´s #1 for fingerprint access control solutions, and FSB, the renowned German fittings manufacturer, last year designed Fingerscan 2.0, meant to be integrated into sophisticated stainless steel and bronze door handles.

This product won the coveted iF gold award last March at the CeBIT 2009 fair, the highest prize for this product design award. „Fingerscan 2.0 allowed us to combine modern technology with elegant design. The iF gold award is the crowning glory of a successful cooperation between our companies“, say proudly Signot Keldorfer, Director at ekey, and Dieter Holsträter, Technical Director at FSB.

Elegant, first-class design and secure: Fingerscan 2.0
Thanks to the Fingerscan 2.0 door handle, you can now open entrance doors easily and securely with just one finger swipe. Conventional access control solutions such as keys, cards, or codes can now be replaced by this innovative solution. The traditional FSB round handle versions will be supplied with an integrated ekey finger scanner, mounted on the rear side of the door handle. On the front side, just a single LED alludes to all the electronics behind. The fingerscan door handles may manage up to 99 fingers for private users, and can also be used in companies as a network solution called ekey net.

There is also the first-class ekey net networked solution for real properties and companies. The classy FSB fingerscan 2.0 will also meet the architects concerns: its technical side is totally hidden and only the design comes to the fore. The traditional FSB handle types with the integrated finger scanner make it possible to secure easily and conveniently via fingerprint the main entrance doors in company buildings. Data is recorded and administrated centrally. A logfile warrants traceability. The administration is simple and allows you to create specific time frames for individual access rights. And what matters most now: the employees do not need any more keys!
