Somfy and ekey combine their expertise and present the ekey fingerprint scanner as a personalized access solution for the smart home world of TaHoma. In addition to control of doors and gates, custom events can be activated with a finger.
Convenient and secure access with a finger
The ekey fingerprint scanner adds a practical alternative to keys, smartphone, etc. to the possible ways of opening doors with SomfyTaHoma. Each person is identified individually by their finger, so only authorized persons are granted access – simply and securely, and without the help of any items that might be lost or forgotten. The connection for controlling doors and gates is established through the Somfy GU Controller io, and is easy to install.
Smart home events with the fingerprint scanner
“Connecting the two systems with the wireless io transmitter or receiver enables one to use the fingerprint scanner to initiate scenarios – and thereby activate other devices,” explains Oliver Rilling, director of strategic marketing at Somfy Central Europe. Depending on the situation and the needs of the resident, any desired event can be activated with a finger. Standing at the front door, the user can, for example, simultaneously unlock the door, close the garage door and have the blinds raised. Or closing the door to the garden could also cause the front door to be locked, the lighting deactivated, and the blinds lowered.
Combined expertise for a smart home
With the connection of its fingerprint scanner to the TaHoma world, ekey biometric systems is a smart home partner as part of Somfy’s “So Open” initiative. Here, the Somfy Group works with renowned brand manufacturers in order to offer their users a comprehensive and convenient smart home experience. The cooperation with ekey expands the spectrum with personalized access control that offers a maximum of convenience and meets the highest security standards.
