Information sheet according to EU Data Act

(valid from 12.09.2025 for ekey products in Plus Mode)

This information sheet supplements ekey’s privacy policy and Service Level Agreements (SLA). It serves to fulfill our information obligations under the EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854).

1. products concerned

This information sheet applies to the following networked products from ekey in Plus Mode:
– ekey dLine
– ekey xLine
– ekey sLine

2. type of product data generated

When using the products in Plus Mode, product data within the meaning of Art. 2 No. 15 Data Act is generated. This includes in particular:
– Access logs (e.g. time, fingerprint scanner used, access success/error)
– System and log data (e.g. status messages, error messages, technical events)
– Notification and API data (if applicable, when using integrations or interfaces)

3. scope, frequency and storage duration

Scope: Data is generated for every access or system event.
Frequency: depending on individual use (e.g. number of accesses per day).
Storage period: Product data is generally stored for as long as it is required for the operation of the system. Details can be found in the individual SLA regulations.

4. format and accessibility

Format: JSON via the ekey Notification API.
Accessibility: The product data is available free of charge to the system administrator and users with the corresponding rights of the respective ekey system.
Retrieval: directly via the app or API interface.

5. access rights

User (end customer / system administrator and user with corresponding rights): has access to their own product data at all times free of charge.
Manufacturer (ekey): only has access to the extent technically necessary, and only in encrypted form, to provide and ensure the function.
Third parties: only receive access if the user expressly requests or authorizes this (e.g. transfer to smart home systems).

6. use of the data

– The generated product data is used exclusively to ensure the operation and functionality of the system and for the user’s individual settings and evaluations.
– Use by ekey or third parties is only made on the basis of the user’s express consent or where legally required.

7. costs

Access to the product data is not possible for the end customer. free of charge at any time.

8. rights of the user under the Data Act

– You have the right to view, download or forward your product data to third parties at any time free of charge.
– You may at any time request that your data be transmitted directly to a third party designated by you (Art. 4 Data Act).
– These rights exist independently of the data protection declaration in accordance with the GDPR.
