The Fensterbau Frontale trade fair in Nuremberg from March 19 to 22, 2024 was very popular: 75,000 visitors from 112 countries attended the trade fair for window, door and façade construction. There was a great atmosphere and a lot of interest in the new Local Mode, the simplified operating mode without an Internet/WLAN connection.
The ekey trade fair team was delighted with the many visitors and good discussions at the stand over the four days. However, the ekey dLine fingerprint scanner was not only on show and to be experienced there, but also at many partners such as Aluprof, Eutherm, HOPPE, Griffing, KNEER-SÜDFENSTER, MACO, Ryterna, TRENDTÜREN and WALA.
Local mode for quick activation
Local mode will make activation of the ekey dLine fingerprint scanner easier at the end of the first half of 2024: All basic functions are available in just a few steps via the ekey bionyx app, without an Internet/WLAN network. A particular advantage for door installation on the construction site. The app guides you intuitively through the process without an operating manual. You can upgrade to Plus mode at any time to expand the scope of features.

Renovating front doors pays off
In both Austria and Germany, building renovations for greater energy efficiency will be subsidized in 2024. And this also includes replacing the outer door, which even brings additional energy-friendly benefits with ekey fingerprint scanners, such as:
- Activate/deactivate the lighting depending on presence and absence via fingerprint scanners
- Regulation of heating, room cooling or ventilation via the fingerprint scanner

Federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG) in Germany
- Funding supports the replacement of heating systems with up to 70% of the investment costs and energy refurbishment measures with up to 20% (of which 15% basic funding plus 5% iSFP bonus if applicable)
- Eligibility to apply for various investors in residential and non-residential buildings
- Eligible measures include the replacement of windows and doors, including Installation of an ekey dLine fingerprint scanner, insulation of the building envelope, heating optimization and specialist planning
Renovation bonus for private individuals (detached/two-family house, terraced house) in Austria
- The refurbishment bonus covers up to 50% of the eligible investment costs for thermal refurbishment of existing buildings.
- Eligible measures include: Replacement or refurbishment of windows and exterior doors, insulation of exterior walls, roof and storey ceilings as well as other energy-saving measures.
- The integration of the ekey dLine fingerprint scanner as part of a door replacement is eligible for funding and is recommended to increase property value, security and convenience.
