First steps to your new ekey sLine system

Below you will find all the information you need to complete your installation and configuration yourself.

Step 1: Requirements for activation

Initial activation and activation of the fingerprint scanner

When it is switched on for the first time, the upper left LED segment of the fingerprint scanner flashes blue – it is ready for activation. If this does not happen, briefly disconnect the power supply to activate the Bluetooth connection. In activation mode, the door can be opened with any finger. After approx. 10 minutes without activation, the mode deactivates automatically, signaled by flashing.

Activate location to find BLUETOOTH® devices

Activate “Location” in the smartphone settings, as your smartphone requires location access to find devices with BLUETOOTH® technology. Since Android 6.0 (2015), Google requires apps to obtain permissions before they are allowed to use system functions such as BLUETOOTH®.

Step 2: WLAN requirements (Plus Mode)

Requirements for the WLAN and necessary settings on the WLAN router for operation in PLUS mode

A stable, password-protected 2.4 GHz WLAN network with at least WPA2 encryption is essential in the wireless range of the front door. 5 GHz networks are not found.
The home network must work with IPv4. IPv6 is not supported.
If there are problems with mesh networks, an access point with its own SSID must be created in the radio range of the front door.

Important notes on setting up and using the fingerprint scanner in PLUS mode

Please have your WLAN/hotspot password ready for activation and activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
From the Apple iPhone 12 onwards, a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network is set up when using a hotspot. To ensure that the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is still found, the “Maximize compatibility” slider must be activated in the iPhone settings.
To use the full range of functions (remote opening, notifications, etc.), your fingerprint scanner must also be connected to the WLAN or cloud during operation.
