With the latest firmware update to version 5.2, ekey is launching exciting new features for its system! In addition to the ekey dLine, the ekey xLine and ekey sLine are now also available with two operating modes to better meet the individual needs of users. In addition, up to 20 fingerprint scanners can now be administered in one system - ideal for larger households or small businesses. The Notification API provides even more possibilities with smart home systems and, together with the improved fingerprint recognition, guarantees a perfect user experience. Since November 27, 2024, all series have been produced and delivered with version 5.2. Customers' existing products will be automatically updated to 5.2 in waves over the next few weeks.

Faster finger recognition for a better user experience

The new release brings a welcome improvement in finger recognition: it now works around 10 percent faster and more efficiently than before. This optimization enables an improved user experience with shorter recognition times.

The finger recognition time has been reduced so that access is now even faster and smoother. This further development is particularly practical for everyday users and further contributes to the convenience of the access system. With release 5.2, faster finger recognition is being rolled out for the ekey xLine, the ekey sLine and the ekey dLine.

ekey xLine and ekey sLine now with two operating modes

With release 5.2, not only the ekey dLine, but also the ekey xLine and ekey sLine can now be used in two operating modes. During activation of the fingerprint scanner, you can choose between local mode with all basic functions and plus mode with additional smart functions in the ekey bionyx.

Extensions in Plus mode

(subject to a charge)

+ Extendable to up to 100 users

Up to 20 fingerprint scanners free of charge in one system

ⓘ Available in Plus Mode

ekey is launching a significant extension for the ekey bionyx system: up to 20 fingerprint scanners can now be stored in the free standard Plus Mode - a significant increase on the previous five fingerprint scanners.

This innovation offers more flexibility and is ideally suited to the needs of larger properties such as villas, upmarket homes and small and medium-sized businesses. Thanks to the increased fingerprint scanner capacity, it is now possible to integrate a larger number of access points into the system - at no additional cost. These can be different entrances, areas within a building or separate access points for employees, service providers or guests.

Notification API for more customized applications

ⓘ Available in Plus Mode

The new Notification API offers an optimal way of clearly assigning users and fingers to a request and providing comprehensive information in real time. This makes smart home integration more flexible and secure.

The highlights of the Notification API

Comprehensive information output
The time, date, the device used, the respective user and the finger used or a digital input from the control unit are output via a request or notification.

Increased security
It is also possible to issue a rejection via the fingerprint scanner, i.e. an unknown user. This further development represents an additional security feature for smart home connections.
