Linz. The owner of Linz-based fingerprint specialist ekey biometric systems GmbH, Dr. Leopold Gallner, brings his two children Raphaela Gallner and Michael Gallner-Holzmann into the innovative company.

Raphaela Gallner gained experience in management consulting, finance and controlling most recently at Ernst & Young and TGW. At ekey, she is responsible for finance, marketing and the foreign sales subsidiaries. “I am looking forward to contributing my experience to a company with which I have felt very connected for a long time. Together, we will open up new markets and further increase awareness of the ekey brand internationally,” says the economist.

Michael Gallner-Holzmann spent several years working in corporate development for various industrial groups in Germany and abroad. He brings to ekey valuable expertise in product development and production as well as quality management. “For me, ekey is a company with great employees and enormous potential that we now want to develop further together,” Michael Gallner-Holzmann is convinced.

“This is an important step for the future. Innovation and continuity characterize ekey as a long-term and reliable partner. Together, we will continue to expand ekey’s market leadership and tap into new customer groups,” says Dr. Leopold Gallner, who is delighted about the support and prospects offered by his two children.

New product developments will also provide a breath of fresh air on the market. ekey is about to launch a new generation of products. Smart features will complement the time-tested benefits of keyless access with fingerprint scanners. To this end, investments were made in in-house research and product development in particular, in order to be able to integrate the systems even better into smart home concepts. In addition to highly sensitive areas and single-family homes, multi-apartment buildings will soon be equipped with fingerprint systems. At ekey, the new products are expected to generate enthusiasm among users and set new standards in the industry.

ekey started in 2002 and is now Europe’s number 1 in fingerprint scanners for access solutions. The company currently employs over 100 people at its 5 locations in Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein/Switzerland, Italy and Slovenia and exports its products to more than 70 countries.

ekey was quick to recognize the potential of biometric authentication as a simple, convenient and secure alternative to keys, smartphone codes or cards. ekey’s access solutions have been trusted for years by private consumers as well as leading companies and organizations such as fire departments and rescue services. Fingerprint scanners are no longer only used in highly sensitive areas, but have become an integral part of smart living and working for many people.
