New functions for the ekey home app!
Following the successful launch of the ekey home app, the new version (1.2.X) has been equipped with new additional functions that make administering the ekey fingerprint integra with Bluetooth function via smartphone or tablet even more convenient and secure.
Digital key – open the door with your smartphone
The administrator can authorize people to use their smartphone or tablet as a “digital key”. For this purpose, the person receives a 6-digit code from the administrator, with which he or she connects to the fingerprint via the ekey home app and can open the door using a smartphone or tablet without having to enroll a finger in the system in advance. Access authorization can be revoked at any time by the administrator by changing the user code.
User Activate or deactivate at the touch of a button
The ekey home app can be used to give stored users, such as neighbors, temporary access authorization via fingerprint scanner or RFID card during vacation absences. After returning, the authorization can be deactivated again without deleting the users. Thus, these users remain ready for the next vacation.
Deactivating the Bluetooth function on the fingerprint scanner
Another new feature is the ability to disable the Bluetooth function on the fingerprint scanners. The administrator can disable the Bluetooth function after adding users and assigning rights. The Bluetooth fingerprint is thus no longer visible to smartphone and tablet users. Of course, the Bluetooth function can be reactivated by the administrator if necessary.
Administration of RFID cards and transponders (FOB)
The ekey fingerprint integra BT is also optionally available with card reader function (RFID). The door can thus be opened by means of a transponder or card without having to first store the user’s finger on site. This function also offers an alternative to people whose fingers have a groove structure that is either genetically determined or insufficiently pronounced due to wear and tear, which makes it difficult for the sensor to detect. This means that people with disabilities can also be granted keyless access without any problems.
Opening doors with the ekey home app
In many situations, opening the door from the immediate vicinity is advantageous, such as when unloading the car, for people with disabilities, for doors with automatic opening or garage doors, etc. For these applications, the smartphone/tablet serves as a “remote control”: start the ekey home app, press the desired button and the door opens.
ekey has always placed great emphasis on simple and intuitive operation of its products. With the new version of the ekey home app (1.2.X) has succeeded in making the operation and functionality of ekey fingerprint scanners even more user-friendly. Users are created, administered or deleted on the smartphone or tablet, authorizations for defined accesses are assigned, relay switching times are set, etc. Up to 3 functions (e.g. front door, garage door, alarm system) can be controlled via a fingerprint scanner. Each function is assigned a different finger, as if each were its own key.
The ekey home app is available free of charge for Apple iOS and Google Android. For testing purposes, a demo mode is integrated, which also works without a fingerprint scanner connected.
